Liebe Leser/innen,
An dieser Stelle werden sämtliche Leserzuschriften der letzten Jahre veröffentlicht. Damit können all diejenigen, die mit einer älteren Ausgabe dieses Titels unterwegs sind, mögliche Veränderungen und Abweichungen nachvollziehen. Bei Neuauflagen werden die Hinweise aus Leserzuschriften selbstverständlich geprüft und gegebenenfalls berücksichtigt.

The guide gave us lots of frustrations because of its inaccuracies... for example :
- walk 24 São Jorge : the picture doesn't match, it says it´s Fajã do Centeio but it's a photo of Fajã dos Cubres. Also Fajã dos Dias does not have a white sandy beach but a black lava beach.
-walk 22 São Jorge : the picture is not from the "farol de Rosais" but one of the "farol dos capolinhos" in Faial....also the path was wrong.
-walk 29 Faial : Path was wrong

In brief : a revision a this guide would be greatly recommended...meanwhile we would advise other walkers to use the "Azores" guide from Sunflower instead, this one did not put us on the wrong trail.

Recently we informed you about our disappointing experience with your walking guide from the Azores. Last summer we visited the Azores and we used your guide for the walks and we found a lot of faults in the descriptions and the maps. [...]

Here we will describe the faults in the Azores-guide (english version, 1st edition 2003):
1. Walk 17 (Terceira, Furnas to Angra).
We couldn't find the starting point of the walk. The path doesn't exist anymore because they built a farm and the terrain is barried with fences. It isn't possible anymore to make this walk.
2. Walk 21 (Pico, Terra Alta to Prainha)
The path from the miradouro Terra Alta down to the coast doesn't exist anymore. We walked along the road in the direction of Santo Amaro. Between the village Terra Alta and Santo Amaro is a new paved road from the "highway" down to the coast which doesn't exist on the map. Beyond Canta da Areia the trail in the direction of the coast which is shown on the map comes to a dead end. The right path starts further on the road (in the corner).
3. Walk 22 (Sao Jorge, from Sete Fontes to Farol de Rosais).
The photo of the farol which is printed in the book is not the right one. The faril at Rosais looks different. The map of the walk is completely wrong. We refer you to the map in the Sunflower guide.
4. Walk 24 (Sao Jorge, Faja do Joao Dias etc)
Also here the map is wrong, because the road to Sete Fontes doesn't exist on the map or is drawed on the wrong place (the map is to small). According to the description you can walk from Faja do Joao Dias to Faja do Centeio. This is not possible anymore. The path ends after a while.
5. Walk 29 (Faial, from the caldeira to Horta).
The unpaved from (which starts at the right of the paved road in the beginning of the walk) is drawed wrong on the map. It starts two corners later.
